Reporting a Wrong Figure

Corrections are the fastest category to act on, and the most useful. A density value, a bag yield, a conversion factor or a worked example that does not add up can be checked and fixed the same day it arrives, provided the message contains enough to reproduce it. Three details make that possible:

  1. The page, by URL or by name, for example the gravel calculator.
  2. The exact number shown, copied from the screen rather than described.
  3. The number you expected instead, and the source it came from.

A supplier invoice, a manufacturer spec sheet or a published density table all count as sources. Without one, a reported figure can only be compared against the same references the site already uses, which is rarely enough to settle a disagreement about a material density.

Suggesting a New Calculator

Requests for a tool the site does not cover yet are worth sending. The useful ones describe the actual job rather than the tool: what you were measuring, which units the supplier quoted in, and what the answer needed to be expressed as. Several of the existing pages, including the BTU and room volume calculator and the fill dirt and excavation calculator, started as that kind of description.

What This Site Cannot Help With

Questions that need a professional rather than a volume figure fall outside what a calculator can answer. Structural slab thickness, reinforcement schedules, footing depth, permit requirements and equipment sizing sign-off are set by local building codes and by engineers who can inspect the actual site. The concrete calculator works out how much material a given slab needs; it cannot say whether that slab is adequate for a load. For questions in that category, a local building department or a structural engineer is the right first stop.

Privacy

Email addresses are used to reply and nothing else. No mailing list runs on this site, no address is shared with a third party, and correspondence is not published. The privacy policy covers what the site collects while you browse, which is limited to anonymous analytics.
